Meet Your Farmer

Hi there. I’m Nissa. I own and operate Renaissance Farms. I’m a permaculture teacher, herbalist, and yoga teacher.

The last few years have been transformative and I’m excited about what is to come starting this year. In a few weeks, I’ll be planting 4000 lavender plants, several acres of sunflowers, and several more of buckwheat. All to lay the groundwork for what will be a permaculture herb farm and honeybee conservation project.

Later this year, I’m bringing back sheep to the farm to grow lovely wool for our own yarns, rovings, and batts. Yarns will be sustainably processed and then hand dyed here.

And I’m introducing several Wheel of the Year events starting with our Lughnasadh Sunflower Fest in August. There will also be educational events and volunteer opportunities.

The farm store is being stocked with beautiful items from the farm as well as carefully curated pieces from vendors who share my values. And the bookshop is about to launch with some great titles.

I’m also the host of a handful of new podcasts that will be coming out this spring:

The Massachusetts Farm to Table Podcast, showcasing the best of local farms, food artisans, chefs, and other local producers. @massachusettsfarmtablepodcast

The Peaceful Pod, where we explore the interconnectedness of all things.

And RenaissanceMama Reads, where I talk about books and offer audiobooks.

All will be available on your favourite podcast platform and on YouTube.

Be sure to sign up for my farm newsletter, The Buzz, for more information on all of these things, plus special shop discounts and a new recipe each week.
