She’s a skilled community herbalist whose education was mainly gained in solitary study of books, nature, and through experimentation. She also attended Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine‘s Herbal Immersion Program.

Nissa is also a dedicated yoga teacher. She has studied under Samarthya and Preetika Bhatnagar, and several other teachers. She has additional certifications in trauma-sensitive yoga, pranayama, yoga nidra, yin yoga, meditation, and chant. Private and group classes are offered online.

She is the founder of Massachusetts Farm to Table network and the host of its podcast.

But day to day, she sees to the vision and operation of the farm – which requires the wearing of multiple hats from goatherd to chandler and everything in between. She is the mother of many, nana of two, and lover of all. An avid reader, needleworker, and artist. Adventurous cook. Enthusiastic celebrator of feasts. Steadfast advocate for social justice. Learner of languages. Wearer of dreadlocks and headscarves.

Her mission is peace and love.

Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu
Om shanti, shanti, shanti

May everything I say and do be for the happiness of all beings
Om peace, peace, peace.
