A Home for Creativity, Culture, & Community

Renaissance Farms invites artists, makers, and organizers to gather, create, and leave a legacy.

Welcome to Renaissance Farms

At Renaissance Farms in Barre, Massachusetts, we are creating a legacy that preserves farmland, heirloom plants and heritage breeds, wildlife and lands as well as art and culture. We envision a sanctuary where ecology, art, and community meet. We believe every event can do more than gather people—it can help build lasting relationships between people and our natural environment, create beauty, and build resilience for the future.

Renaissance Farms is a place where ecology, art, and community come together. We host gatherings that are rooted in creativity, land stewardship, and shared experience.

We are equally interested in events that explore traditional lifeways, land-based skills, living history, and immersive or spiritual connections to place.

What we offer

  • Nearly 300 acres of fields, woods, and working landscape
  • Spaces suitable for performances, workshops, markets, and gatherings
  • Opportunities for both intimate retreats and larger public-facing events
  • A collaborative spirit: we host not just events, but community
  • A chance for your gathering to leave a tangible legacy—whether a mural, a stage, a sculpture, or a garden

In addition, we can support:

  • Multi-day events and camping (by arrangement)
  • Temporary structures, encampments, and installations
  • Open fields for markets, demonstrations, or tournaments
  • Immersive, participatory, and land-based experiences

We Welcome Gatherings that are:

  • Creative, collaborative, and community-centered
  • Rooted in respect for the land and its rhythms
  • Exploratory—whether artistic, cultural, agricultural, historical, or spiritual

We are especially interested in hosting:

  • Arts and cultural events (performances, installations, workshops, and festivals)
  • Seasonal, spiritual, and earth-based celebrations
  • Traditional and land-based gatherings (craft or skill-based events, fiber festivals, and agricultural fairs)
  • Living history and immersive experiences (historical reenactment, storytelling, and LARP)
  • Cultural and community celebrations, including those centered on heritage, food, and shared traditions

Why Here?

Because we believe that art and culture belong not only in galleries and theatres, but in living landscapes.  We believe that every event, every group, and every individual contributes to the rich tapestry of the farm. We believe in fair and creative exchange—every contribution, whether financial or hands-on, helps ensure this land continues to welcome art, ecology, and community for generations to come.

We welcome both traditional rental arrangements and creative partnership models that blend monetary payment with in-kind contributions—such as skilled labor, materials, or lasting installations that benefit the land and future events.

Each collaboration helps sustain and grow Renaissance Farms—supporting stewardship of the property, preservation of agricultural pursuits,  restoration of habitats, and continued availability of this sacred space for future community gatherings.
