Milk Shares
Whether you are a cheesemaker, soapmaker, or just a family that appreciates Real Milk; if all you want is raw milk from pastured animals, we have a share just for you. How does the share work?
Milk shares are the most convenient way for farmers to legally sell raw milk. Milk shares are available to individual families, or to businesses. Instructions are given to those who wish to home pasteurise their weekly milk allotment.
Members purchase a milk share (Oberhasli goat or Dexter cow) in advance. The farmer uses those funds to procure more livestock, milking equipment, supplies, and to plan for testing and veterinary bills. The fees also help to support the daily operation of the farm.
Members collect their milkshares weekly at the farm. You may purchase a milkshare at any point during the year, subject to availability.
How much does milk share cost?
A goat share costs $520 per year for one gallon each week of raw Oberhasli goat milk.
A cow share costs $625 per year for one gallon each week of raw Dexter cow milk.
There is an additional bottle deposit of $25/milkshare.
What else is available on the farm?
Vegetables Fruits Plants Raw Milk (goat and cow) Pastured Eggs Raw Honey Maple Syrup Cut Flowers Farm-raised meat (chicken and turkey) Firewood Manure/compost Wool roving, batts and yarns Farm-baked goods Organic and natural groceries (at wholesale for members only) Handmade items Classes and workshops Events Christmas greenery
May I purchase more than one share?
Yes, indeed! Purchase as many shares as you need for your family or business.
Can I exchange work for a portion of my share?
Yes, you can barter all or a portion of your milkshare, depending upon need (ours and yours).
How do we pay for our co-operative share?
We prefer that shares are paid in full up front. This ensures that funds are available for farm expenses. If this presents a hardship for you, please inquire about making more flexible payment arrangements. We don't want to turn anyone away!
PLEASE SEE OUR APPLICATION FORM. Please be sure to choose the appropriate share. Application must be printed, signed and returned to Renaissance Farms with your payment to: Renaissance Farms ~ 110 Partridge Hill Road ~ Charlton ~ MA ~ 01507.
