Internships

Internships are available for young people aged 15 and older, and may begin at any time during the year. Ideally, interns should plan to stay on for at least one full season (about 12 weeks). Summer time is the most popular time of year and the limited number of available internships will be competitive.

Farm internships are hard work. We expect the intern to arrive early, in all weather, to help with daily farm chores. These include turning out animals, filling water troughs, milking, and assisting with health checks. There will be plenty of planting, weeding and harvesting to do as well as fence repair and other land management tasks. Interns will be expected to spend time with shareholders and customers in the shop, and to assist with various events and activities.

Through the internship process, we anticipate that the intern will have developed a deep understanding and respect for farming as a way of life; will have grown in body, mind, and spirit; and will have gained valuable experiences to apply their whole lives long.
